These Days Cards

Just a few cards made using the 'These Days' collection ... I'm still loving the pearl pens as you can see!! I had challenged myself to make some more 'male' cards, but Alas this pretty range was just too tempting for me and I only ended up making one!! I'll try harder with the next range LOL.

This card looks soooo much better in real life ... it's a shame blogger hasn't gone 3D yet!!

These Days & Wood Flourishes

Another layout using the 'These Days' collection from Kaisercraft ... Oh how I'm loving these papers ... actually this page is mostly covered by stickers from the collection.... and of course there are some of those GORGEOUS wood flourishes that Kaisercraft are so famous for. The frame around the photo is from the Acetate Frames also by Kaiser. The circle around the photo was something I stamped free hand .... that will teach me!! It's all lopsided now ... it's back to the old rules from me folks ..."Measure twice, cut once" !!!! Patience truly is a virtue : ) LOL The title was cut on a Cricut and the swirls around the outside were just done free hand. I'm having a bit of fun playing with acetate at the moment too, If you haven't had a go at this medium yet let me encourage you to give it a hit!!

My first Layout using the beautiful 'These Days' Collection from kaisercraft ... Oh how I adore the subtle and excited tones in this new collection ... the browns and oragnes are just so different to the usual colours you find in rosey paper collections. I've also used one of the Kaisercraft Acetate clocks on this page that are just too easy to slap on a page!!LOL I can't wait to do more work with this collection!

Hummingbird LO

The Hummingbird paper collection from Kaisercraft is a difficult one to work with for me ... the colours are so bold and strong that found I really had to soften it as I went to get some balance in my layouts... but in the end I was really happy with how this page in particular came together ... it wasn't anything too difficult, but it is delishiously tactile which I adore!! The added paper booms give the page real height and the wood flourish bird cage reflects this beautifully. I'll pop this layout in a shadow box to go in my house somewhere as even I can't fit a page this lumpy and bumpy in my albums!! LOL

The wonderful collectable die cuts from this range also make embellishing any thing from cards to pages a breeze!

A few cards made using the 'lil' Primrose' collection ... I LOVED making these cards the little girls are the cutest embellishments ever!! The whole collection is quite pastel so I found using a strong background colour like the burgundy was really uplifting to the cards. You honestly can't go wrong with this collection ... all you need to is to add lace ribbons and flowers and you have a winner!!

Another Layout using the Lil' Primrose collection ... this is such a beautiful and soft paper range, I couldn't resist doing this photo of Daisy with my Father ... such a topic needs a soft touch!!

I mostly used a lot of elements from the sticker sheet on this layout so it was a simple and quick layout to pull together. I must say I'm surprised at how good the title letters look ... when I first saw them i thought them just awful ( they reminded me of barbed wire!!), but now that I have seen them used, I love them ...some times you just have to get your hands on a product to truly appreciate it!! LOL

Introducing the 'Lil' Primrose' paper collection from kaisercraft... this is such a gorgeous range with the cutest little girls scattered throughout it ... I'm loving using it!! This is also the first ever baby photo of myself that I have ever scrapped, which was really wired as I look just like my own kids ...or at least they look just like me!!?? I've also added a pair of the fabulous iron gates from the Kaisercraft wood flourish collection, I just adore all these wood flourishes :)

Sweet Nothings Memo Block

This is a VERY practical little BTP project from kaisercraft, I've decorated the memo holder you see here with collectable die cuts and stickers from the 'Sweet Nothings' collection. It's finished off with a few resin flowers and silver rhinestones. It was a very simple and easy project to knock together and these memo blocks make the perfect gifts!!

This is a film strip photo frame from the Kaisercraft BTP collection and here I've made it up for my husband for his 40th birthday ... he and his dad just love anything to do with bicycles ... the older the better ... mind you I feel the same way about him!!! LOL

It is embellished with collectable dies cuts from the 'On the Move' collection and a Pennyfarthing wood flourish.

FINALLY a boyish layout ... Made using the 'On the Move' paper collection from kaisercraft. What a lot of fun this was to make ...I simply LOVE all those flying banners and the new die cut collectables make embellishments sooooo easy ( no more cutting!!). I'm sure I'll be using this collection more in the future as it suits my husband perfectly :) LOL

Three groovy cards were made using the 'On the Move' paper collection from Kaisercraft ... they were all VERY simple and quick to create. This is such a fantastic collection for the men in your life, I have already given one away to my father-in-law!! This is one of those collections that I didn't like at all in the catalogue, but has turned out to be awesome in real life ... because of this my new years resolution is to reserve judgement on any collection until I have seen it for myself!! I just couldn't resist one more Sweet Nothings LO!! This one is of Lilly's first day at school. with 6 kids I'm totally over the bright blue school layouts that I aways end up turning out ... so this time I decided to stick with the beloved shabby chic style and do the school photo anyway ... it was a bit risky, but I love the results .... they all look like they are standing in a garden ...which they were!!

This different stye of scrapbooking is exciting ... where you set the context with your page rather than just coordinate with your subject ... I'm keen to do more of this kind of scrapbooking... stay posted to see how it all works out!! Smiles from Kel.

Here is another LO made using the Sweet Nothings collection from Kaisercraft. I mostly used the die cut 'collectable' shapes to pull this lay out together and some gorgeous soft material flowers. The photo is one of my favourites from this time last year ... it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to get a good photo of the whole family with 8 people to try and get to all smile at the same time ... we almost there with this one ... and then Abby had to go and stick her finger up her nose just as the photo was taken!!! KIDS!

Hunt & Gather + 13th Hour

With this layout I have combined elements from the '13th Hour' collection with paper from the 'Hunt and Gather' collection. The wheel barrow and garden tools were painted with silver precious metal paint and the bird on the swing is actually a stamping up stamp and punch set. The photo is of my naughty children caught in the act of trying to haul the baby up to the top of the cubby house in a milk crate!!!? It's a wonder that child even made it to 2 being the youngest of 6 kids!!! LOL

Blue Bonjour Layout!

This is a beautiful photo taken over looking my front driveway, I LOVE the colours in the sunset ... the Bonjour paper collection was just perfect to show off the divine out door feel of this photo. The blue flowers are actually cut from satin material... for some reason this LO really speaks to me, I find myself staring at it for ages ... it has captured the feel of the day perfectly!

This LO was created using the 'Chanteuse' paper collection from Kaisercraft, there are also a few Prima flowers in there .... one of my new favourite things to use on a LO is lace and material flowers ... material flowers flatten so well for storage. I know a lot of people are designing with the lumpy and bumpy these days, but I must confess I'm still drawn to the practical side of embellishing, I really want my pages to 'fit' into my albums in the long run and these material flowers seem to be the perfect compromise!

Another 13th Hour LO

Another LO made using the versatile '13th Hour' collection ... it's hard to believe that this page and my last distinctly girl LO both originate from the same paper collection! This time I've capitalised on the browns and blacks in the paper range and has a ball with all those acetate clocks. I also used the 'wire' stamp that came with the range to create the 'leathery' look around the photo matt. They were the most perfect colours for creating this heritage LO.

13th Hour Layout

I made this LO last month and it is most lumpy and bumpy scrapbooking I've ever done ... This is OK though as I'm going to pop this page in a shadow frame and hang in the house ... the new 13th Hour paper collection is aimed at catching the Halloween theme, but it's so versatile you can really do anything with it ... the purple tones were just perfect for my girls!!

Made using the 'Bonjour' collection from kaisercraft, this layout was the most fun to make ... my beautiful daughter found out at school that there is a restraunt located on one of the levels of the Eiffel Tower, after that she would come home every day and ask me to take her there for lunch or even dinner??? How precious!!! And how exciting it was to see these papers and know EXACTLY how I was going to scrap them!! This is the most beautiful paper collection Kaisercraft have released in quite a while :)

Well I saw this idea for a little suitcase in a Magnolia Ink magazine and just couldn't help myself!! I used some scrapcake papers ( The bright side of life collection) and more of the gorgeous Manor House flowers. This was the most fun I have had scrapping in ages ... the box I made the suitcase out of is actually an old Wii remote box ... I LOVE recycling! Posing in the picture is 'Olie' my DD teddy that I had to sneak away for this photo shoot while she wasn't looking!! LOL

Have a look at the papers and products from the latest company to hit the scrapbooking scene in Australia ... that gorgeous large flower in the layout above and the yummy leaves are from 'Manor House Creations' and the patterned papers are from it's sister company 'The Scrap Cake'.

They are soooooooo beautiful!!

I know I've been a bit of a die hard Kaisercraft for a good while now, but I think I'm about to cross over to the other side ... I love all the papers and products these guys are putting out and am thrilled to be stocking it all in my shop too.

I love it when Australian companies come up with the goods to compete on a global basis and that is just what Manor House Creations have done... so let me just encourage everyone out there to get behind these guys and support them as much as you are able :)

If you love colour you will love this range ... it's so rich and covers the whole colour spectrum from pastels to deep darker tones as well. It's perfect for girls too I must add :)

Most of the themes are fishing and camping within the range but the beautiful earthy tones are just divine for any out door photos. In this layout I have teamed up the papers with some flowers I cut out of a cheap paper serviette! This is now my new Fav. layout! LOL

This is the cutest range ever, and just perfect for a little boy ... mind you it quite suits my BIG boy as well ... as you can see from the layout above!! I've done a bit of inking and distressing on this page as well as the obvious stamping and drawn on stitching, but in the end it was just a fun and simple Layout that was a pleasure to create ... feels good to do some easy ones every now and then!! This is just a quick little Kaisercraft Car Album decorated in the adorable 'Little Toot' Papers. I've done a bit of stamping with the Kaisercraft background stamps on each page around the photos and finished it off with a set of the charms dangling from the jump rings that were made by stamping the Little Toot stamps onto shrink film and colouring them in .... I loved them and think they are off-the-charts-cute!

It turned out to be a very quick, easy and fun project to create!

I'm back with another Blea & Ivy Project ( it's the last one this month I promise!!) I made this Kaisercraft Organiser and just had to put on some of these gorgeous little Tulle flowers I have just learned how to make, they are so cute! Beside the Tulle flowers I have used the shrink film again to make that butterfly you can see next to the flowers and loads of other punches and stamps for the rest. This is a VERY easy project to put together ... the only question that remains is weather or not it will make me more organised??

Yet another layout using the Blae & Ivy paper range from Kaisercraft. I've also gone a bit over board with an Ivy roller stamp and the boarder was made using a Martha Stuart punch set. The stamps in this range are just divine, so you can see I've used them a fair bit in the back ground to create some sprigs of leaves. And of course once again that Stampin Up! butterflies embossing die cut makes the page just perfect!

My first Layout with Kaisercraft's new collection is all Shabby Chick... The Blea & Ivy paper collection may have a very strange name, but I like it ... the colours are just beautiful ... I worked them here on this layout with a beautiful remnant of material I had been hanging onto for ages ... I love the striking flowers and the crane, I simply cut the material up and used the images on the page the same as I would paper images! This is a LO inspired by the talented and amazing Gabrielle Pollacco - the Queen of Shabby Chick! I wanted to try some thing a bit different as a layout of myself is a rare thing indeed!

I've also done a heap of stamping in the back ground ... there is just so much you can do with an ink pad ... even the chipboard title has been inked!I really enjoyed doing this page, especially as I find it a real challenge to get more than one photo on a page these days!!

Kaisercraft's new 'Pink Gelato' paper collection was perfect for this fun little BTP project... I simply used one of Kiasercraft's script MDF words and a flower shaped tag album. Pop some papers on the flowers, add a few paper blooms and some wood flourishes decorated with some ink and this is what you end up with!

The Pink metal finish paint I have used here is a new product I recently began to stock in the shop ... I LOVE the irridesent quality of these 'precious metal paints'. I'm also a bit taken by those angel wing wood flourishes ... how cute! :)

Let me start by saying that 'Pink Gelato' would have to be one of the oddest names for a paper range that I have ever come across!! I would actually love to know the story behind how they came up with the name for this range!

Anyway, I will concede that the name fits perfectly, all the pages in this collection are pastel and pale in complexion and I thought I would struggle with creating anything from this pallet, as I'm far more drawn to and comfortable with bold bright colours, BUT..... I love the pages I have made recently using these papers! They are the perfect papers for a baby girl, and with 4 of those under my belt, I've got more than enough subject matter to accompany this 'Pink Gelato' collection.

In the layout above I have also used the rolled paper rose technique I have come to adore and of course there is the ever present spray of butterflies that it seems I have become addicted to lately!

Velvet Ensemble Cards...

This first card was made using paper from the Velvet Ensemble Paper Pad, a tag from the coordinating Journal Tag book and I made the rose and leaves from circles of Satin.

The next few cards below were made from more paper in the Velvet Ensemble paper pad and as many birds from my new Martha Stuart bird punch as I thought I could get away with!! Bhahahahaha.

This is a quick card I made recently using the Chapter One paper Pad and the English Rose stamps. I've actually used an empty bracket frame bit of paper from out of the pack of one of the paper pad books and blended distress ink inside the 'mask' then used StazOn ink to stamp out the roses.

It's a very simple yet effective technique!

Here is another Layout done using the divine 'Chapter One ' paper collection, I'm simply having a ball with this paper range ... and those gorgeous paper bows that Heidi Swapp came up with ( the challenge now is to do a layout NOT using a paper bow!!! Bhahaahahaha). The design I have used for this LO is a very popular one these days ... it basically breaks down to a patterned boarder strip of paper running the length of the page, a photo off set from that to one side and a cluster of embellishments overlapping and joining the two. It is a simple and stunning effect that I plan to use prolifically in the future!!

This range would have to be the easiest one of all to make cards out of .... how adorable are these little animals?? Kaisercraft's new paper collection 'Party Animals' is proving to be extremely popular, so I think we will be seeing a lot more of it in the future!

A couple of weeks ago I sat some very lovely Guinea Pigs down ( all with varing levels of kills and experience in scrapbooking) and gave this idea a go ....AND IT WORKED!!!! They all walked away 5 hours latter ( and a half hour off for lunch and breaks) with a complete 16 page Album that they only had to add their photos to!

It was so exciting ... I have 2 'Albums In An Afternoon' classes that I'm offering now .... a mothers day themed one made using the Chanteuse Paper collection and the other one I'm posting below called 'Life's A Beach', which was made using the Seaside paper collection.

These photos are of the finished pages right before I stuck a heap of black and white photos into it from my summer holidays. One lady stuck all colour photos in it from her grand kids summer holidays, and it looked even better.

So with out further ado .... here it is!

What I'm aiming to teach in these clases is that you can scrapbook on a budget and with a limited time frame in mind ... it's a real break down in the anatomy of a scrapbook page, and repetition means that people really get to practice simple principles over and over, so much so that they can continue on with this themed album, long after the class has ended, creating many more pages using the same processes over and over again. This is a real skill that can be taught and most certainly can be learnt! Not every page can be a work of art ... sometimes you just need to get on with your albums ... or even make albums for others that they can pop their own photos into.

I LOVE this process ...

I hope I become rich and famous for it one day .... maybe I should copy right the phrase 'Album In An Afternoon' ?!!! Bhahahahahahahahah

Lullaby Gifts

I made these two little hanging name plaques as new baby gifts from the Lullaby paper collection. Actually all I used in the end was paper from one paper pad and some ribbon .... how economical is that! These little hanging plaques make the perfect gift, you can prepare them ahead of time and just add the name once a baby has been born! There was LOTS of left overs on the paper pack to make matching cards with too !!

A Walk in the Park.... With the Chanteuse collection!

I have made this little Park scene out of the Kaisercraft photo display BTP project. I've used lots of Wood flourishes that I covered in opal embossing enamel and a few of their lovely little paper blooms as well. The paper collection that I used here is the Chanteuse range. I'm thrilled with how the whole thing turned out ... it's actually quite an efficient use of space, getting three gorgeous photos into what would effectively be the space of one free standing frame!

I really like the way it adds to the story of the day and sets a back drop for the whole event.

I created this layout using the Chanteuse Paper collection and as many of the matching embellishments as I could stick on there ... it was so much fun to do!! I printed the photo in sepia on canvas paper to give the whole thing a bit of a shabby sheek look to it. Oddly enough, what I think REALLY makes this page work though are the wood flourish birds .... it's my opinion that wood flourishes improve every page they are added to!

Lullaby Frame and Card

Well let me start by saying that this paper collection must have been made just for me!

This new collection is called 'Lullaby' and entails all thing baby and beautiful! Pinks and Blues, soft swirls and flourishes .... oh I LOVE it all!! With 6 beautiful babies of my own to scrap I'm pretty sure I'll use this collection no end!

Here I have created a bracket frame and matching card that could be given as matching gifts ... that is my little Daisy's photo in there ... so in this instance, it's a gift I'm giving myself!! LOL

This is another Layout I did for a Kaisercraft challenge ... this time you had to take a girly paper range and create a boy layout ... I loved the blues and greens in the 'Utopia' paper collection and especially those green leaves ... they remind me of a jungle theme, so I used them to create this LO of my own little jungle animal .... What a fun layout to make!! :)

Nan's Favorites ... Recipe For Love!

Made using the Nan's Favorite paper collection ..... this has turned out to be one of my fav. Layouts of late ...which surprises me really as I didn't like this range that much when I first saw it ... but I challenged myself to use it anyway and came up with this ... I think I actually work better when 'challenged'!!

Anyway, I LOVE the whole range now ... thus proving that first impressions mean NOTHING in scrapbooking, you have to get your hands dirty to REALLY find out if something will work for you or not! :)

Nan's Favorites ... Recipe Box

I have used this Kaisercraft 'All Purpose' Box to create a gorgeous little recipe box using the Nan's Favorite paper collection ... I just love the little lady bugs all over this ... making it reminded me of our old mulberry tree that mum would make jam from ... thats why I used the leaves on the box, to make it look like a few leaves had been dropped there in the cooking process. I LOVE this project .... It's not just beautiful to look at, but I feel really connected to it personally ...I don't get that a lot with my BTP projects ...I'll have to try for this more in the future though as it is a VERY satisfying feeling!

This is a layout i did recently using the 'Off Shore ' paper collection from Kaisercraft ...actually to be truthful it was more about getting to use that gorgeous 'half shell' border punch ... I was dying to get that onto a lay out!! I'm not too sure about those glitter butterflies, I think they look good on the layout, but I have developed a nervousness about 'stickers' in general .... they just don't smack of class! I think I'm becoming a scrapbooking snob ... is there an intervention for that sort of thing?
