Saturday Sketch # 1 March 2013

For this sketch I have used the lovely Lulu and Roy Collection.
The sketch was simple and straight forward...
And I decided to just run with the same format, focusing more on titles and text than embellishments.

The scalloped border you can see around the outside edge of my page is the new printed tape from Kaisercraft ( like washi tape).
I just love this stuff, its so easy to use and so very effective.

To finish off the whole page I covered the lot with the Lulu and Roy acetate sheet ... I just love the way the corner pictures ease themselves gently over both the page and photos!

Thanks for stopping by for a look.

Lulu and Roy Layout

Today I'm thrilled to introduce the new Lulu and Roy Collection!
This is a beautiful, flowery, eclectic collection of papers that successfully combine pretty pastels with bold colours and patterns.

I found it to be so pretty and feminine ... on this layout I have mostly just used elements from the sticker sheet, although I did have a bit of fun stamping and inking the center background circle. I must be a little addicted to that doily mask as every time I tell myself to try a different mask I find myself reaching for this one AGAIN! I suppose we all have our favourite toys!! LOL

Besides these few things I have stamped and used organza ribbon and wood flourishes  on this page and thats about everything ... I was going for the simple yet effective look.

Thanks for stopping by for look.
Have a great day.

Cheers from Kel.

Flora Delight & Wood Flourishes

Well this last layout with the Flora Delight Collection was loads of fun to put together ... I've finally warmed to this bright and bold paper range!

I was really keen to get into the new wood flourishes that Kaisercraft have released recently ... my only problem? I was spoilt for choice!! LOL

There are sooooo many wood flourishes to choose from now it's mind blowing! If you would like to wade through the PAGES AND PAGES of flourishes available from Kaisercraft then duck over to their site HERE and have a go at it ... pack a lunch and visit the little girls room first!!!

So mostly I just kept layering on this layout ... white ink first with the background masking, rub-ons next building up the flowers, then rows of grass and other flowers, the wood flourishes and finally butterflies... a few subtle ones and then the not-so-subtle big black ones ... that match my Daughters personality perfectly.

Thanks for stopping by for a peek at my work

Sat. Sketch #1 Feb 2013

This sketch was a real chalenge... and I was determined to just use one colour this time from the
Suga Pop Collection so this one was a real stretch for me!

I love that Kaisercraft always come out with an Easter collection each year... it means I'm up to date with at least these kinds of photos as each Easter I scrap up the photos from the year before. But when I found this old one of my big girl who started school last week I couldn't resist ... look at that chocolate face!! LOL

Anyway, this time the wood flourishes and background stenciling are the heros of the page which I was really happy with in the end. I must confess I'm not a huge fan of Owls as embellishments  but By-George they big in scrapbooking circles these days, so I just went with it ... it's good to move out of the usual and try something different!?

Here is the sketch that it is all based on...

Thanks for stopping by for a look.

Class Act Layout

Well it's almost that time ... BACK TO SCHOOL!! So this week we are kicking off the celebration with the Class Act Collection.

So with 6 lovely little children of my own as you might imagine, I have plenty of school photos at my finger tips to scrap so I'm lovin this new collection purely and simply for its practical applications.
And Kaisercraft have a matching album to go with this range as well ...oh Bliss!

All the elements are bright and bold and easy to use as far as popping a layout together goes. This collection gets 10 gold stars for being a truly easy to use set of papers and elements.

As you can see from this page, the main job that will occupy you with this collection is simply construction ... I didn't use any tricky techniques or excessive add ons to finish this layout... it was quick and simple to pull together and all the more satisfying for it I must confess! LOL

Thanks for stopping by for a look.

Kaisercraft Wishing Well

Today I wanted to share with you a project I put together for my Kaisercraft Design Team application last year ... I actually got my dates mixed up and missed the cut off for the applications [Rolls eyes in self disgust] so this never actually made it anywhere as far being seen goes, so I wanted to share it here.

So I've used the Kaisercraft Wishing Well as well as a host of other wood embellishments to create a little garden around the wishing well.

The chipboard pieces are all pretty obvious, most of the bushy bits are the green paper flowers folded into quarters and the stone fence is just plain card stock that has been embossed with a circle pattern and inked over. this would look even better if you had a stone or brick embossing folder!

A proliferation of flowers over every thing pulls the whole thing together, as well as little touches like butterflies, lady bugs and rhinestones on the well that look like water droplets.

It was so much fun to make this little wishing well wonderland ... I can see why people get totally pulled into the world of modle making!! LOL

Thanks for looking...

Forget-Me-Not Layout

Today I'm introducing the elegant and beautiful Forget-Me-Not Collection ... the colours in this collection so deep and mello at times yet highlighted perfectly by the playful and airy peach colour that so defines it! I can tell this little collection is will popular...

I have used the die cut speciality sheet and much of the sticker sheet to create this layout of my sweet little Daisy... I especially like the effect of all tose honeycomb shapes all about the place ... I'm such a fashion victim ... these hexagons are all the rage in scrapbooking at the moment and I can see why... they are just that bit different and fun to work with!!

Thanks for popping on by for a look... cheers from Kel.

Sat. Sketch #4 Nov. 2012

Well I LOVED the sketch this week over at the Kaisercraft Blog!
I have used the Miss Match Collection to attempt to replicate this sketch with my own flavour mixed in. I think it is the round element that captures me so much about this sketch ... I just adore round elements on any page! LOL

I've also added a few resin flowers, paper blooms and a wood flourish bird, but everything else on this page pretty much came out of the Miss Match paper collection be they collectables, stickers or paper pad elements. I did finish it all off with a pearl flourish and some rhinestones scattered about the place, but all in all this page came together satisfyingly quickly and easily.... if only all pages were the same!

Thanks for stopping by for a look.
Cheers from Kelly-ann.

Merry and Bright

This final layout that I have made with the Merry and Bright Collection is a nice simple one ... I love the chinese lanterns and as always, the asian feel of this whole collection.

I did some masking with a crafters workshop template that had these adorable tiny leaves on it ... you will definitely be seeing more of these on my pages ... I LOVE them! LOL

I'm also still a big fan of using the border stamps to create an almost wrought iron window frame feel for pages, and Kaisercraft have come out with some stunning border stamps lately, so I'm quite pleased with that!

Anyway, thanks for dropping by...
Smiles from Kel.

Sat. Sketch #3 Nov 2012

Today I used the long time popular Class of 87' collection to do the Saturday Sketch over on the Kaisercraft Blog. School photos are always a challenge with the bright colours inevitably found in them, but they are fun to do and the kids just LOVE to look through these album pages!

I also used one of the new Templates put out by Kaisercraft... the tree template is nice on its own, but perfect to use as branches draping over onto a page. I used a distress ink and an ink blending tool to get this colour on using the template.

And of course there are literally hundreds of wood flourishes to choose from these days so finding a school one was easy. I definitely find myself wanting to put a wood flourish on every page I do these days! LOL

This is the sketch the layout was based on ....
Thanks for popping over for a look.
Cheers from Kel

Sat. Sketch #1 Nov 2012

For this Sat. Sketch I've used the 365 Days Collection ... this is a calendar collection, but a calendar is the only thing I haven't made with these lovely papers... yet!! LOL
I love this photo of my son... he couldn't actually play the guitar at this stage ... but he sure looked cool with it!
I have to take a second to thank Kaisercraft who now have sooooo many wood flourish shapes available that I could even find something as obscure as a guitar wood flourish to compliment this photo!

It was all based on this sketch:
