Flora Delight & Wood Flourishes

Well this last layout with the Flora Delight Collection was loads of fun to put together ... I've finally warmed to this bright and bold paper range!

I was really keen to get into the new wood flourishes that Kaisercraft have released recently ... my only problem? I was spoilt for choice!! LOL

There are sooooo many wood flourishes to choose from now it's mind blowing! If you would like to wade through the PAGES AND PAGES of flourishes available from Kaisercraft then duck over to their site HERE and have a go at it ... pack a lunch and visit the little girls room first!!!

So mostly I just kept layering on this layout ... white ink first with the background masking, rub-ons next building up the flowers, then rows of grass and other flowers, the wood flourishes and finally butterflies... a few subtle ones and then the not-so-subtle big black ones ... that match my Daughters personality perfectly.

Thanks for stopping by for a peek at my work

Flora Delight Layout

Today I'm sharing a layout I made with the Flora Delight Collection.
I'm actually finding this collection a little hard to work with!! My usual style involves lots of distressing, aging and generally turning the pages into something shabby chic ... but these bold and beautiful colours are making all that somewhat difficult...
Still I'm enjoying the challenge. This was the first layout I made using this collection and I'm please to say I got better at it with each subsequent layout!! LOL

I suppose it is quite good to stretch your usual style to new things... a couple of the collections this month has certainly helped me do that.

I'm encouraged to be working like this ... every month I get a kit of each new kaisercraft collection and create as many pages/cards/BTP projects as I can from the kit.

The beauty of this approach is that I find myself working with papers I never would have chosen myself... sometimes they turn out to be favourites ... you just never know.

But I know for sure I LOVE the challenge!! LOL

Saturday Sketch #3 Feb 2013

For this Sketch I did a copy cat thing and used the Floral Delight Collection and Stuck to the sketch as closely as  could.... I really like this sketch and sample so I was quite happy to simply reproduce this week!

There are no fantastic nor amazing techniques to report here ... just a bit of stamping in the back ground really ... the rest was all just a matter of getting my hands on the right products and sticking them down.

And this is the sketch it was all based on...

Thanks for stopping by for a look.
Cheers from Kel.

Sat. Sketch #4 Jan 2013

I loved this weeks sketch and had a ball putting it together with the Marigold Collection.
I used my favourite Doily mask again as well... I simple adore the effect this creates on backgrounds!

Besides the masking, everything on this page is pretty straight forward... pearls, stickers, a few collectables and some sewing on the outside edge.

This is the sketch that the layout is based on:

Dusty Attic Vines

Ok, so this is a shock ... I actually had a go at designing with a few Dusty Attic products and laid my beloved Kaisercraft embellishments aside for a moment!! Thats still Kaisercraft papers there in the back ground, but the yummy vine, beautiful flowers and all the chipboard extras are from dusty Attic.

This was such a fun layout to make, I had challenged myself not to use that vine on the corner of a photo.... which is the way you see these kind of embellishments used usually, so gracefully flowing down over the photo seemed like a reasonable alternative.

I love the cascading flowers effect and its achieved easily when everything is naturally running down the page... the pearls creating a wisteria effect worked really well for me also... they are actually my favourite part of this page!!

I've also tossed in some metal leaves and keys to add more texture and dimension  The paper leave there are also Dusty Attic's own, but I love to mix media and thought that the metal leaves really added depth to the page and helped to lift the vine and flowers.

Thanks for popping over for a look.
Cheers from Kelly-ann.

Just Believe Layout

Today I have MORE Christmas papers from Kaisercraft to show you! The Just Believe Collection is so much more than just Christmas though ... these beautiful Red Rose themed papers are classic and would be comfortable used on a layout any time of the year with any theme!

I have stuck to the traditional here though and done another Christmas Layout ... as you can tell, I'm having a bit of a love affair with brass embellishments at the moment!

The other Hero of this page is those gorgeous sprays of red pearls. I did try using a pearl pen, but in the end I discovered nothing says Christmas like some shiny metallic finish pearls!

Thanks for looking.

Sat. Sketch #5 Sep. 2012

This week I've used  the Lakehouse Collection for the sketch
and how delightful the sketch was ... simple and classic!

I love this kind of sketch, it really gives you the opportunity to interpret the sketch in different ways which is exactly what I've done here with these pretty flowery papers of the Lakehouse collection.

I've really hit the outside edges of the page with a brick template from Crafters Choice... the good news is that Kaisercraft have just brought out their own templates which is thrilling for me as
I LOVE templates, I can't wait to get my hands on those!! LOL

Thanks for stopping by for a look.
Cheers from Kelly-ann.

Turtle Dove Layout

This layout made with the Turtle Dove Collection is my favourite Christmas page so far this year... the photo is a silly disorganised one, but precious to me none the less and I loved the special feel that these papers and embellishments brought to my layout.
This is also the the very thing I adore most about scrapbooking ... you truly don't need the best photos in the world to bring to life the best memories in your life, you can build that yourself buy adding colour, texture and movement ... if scrapbooking were a person I would be hugging them right now!
Thanks for dropping by,

Turtle Dove Cards

Today I have some cards made using the divine Turtle Dove Collection ... I love this traditional Christmas collection... it reminds me of all the old English Christmas cards I grew up with!! LOL

Pearls and ribbons are of course the perfect companion to these papers... the only difficulty I encountered in making these cards was that I was constantly tempted to go over the top and decorate them to death!! I only wanted to make simple cards and sticking to that manifesto was an effort with such gorgeous coordinating embellishments.... it's good problem to have! LOL
Have a great day...

One More Miss Match Layout

This was the first Layout I did using the lovely Miss Match Collection, and it remains my favourite... I love that it is all flowery and girly without being overpoweringly pink ... I'm a HUGE fan of the deep peach colours in this collection. As you can see I also had a bit of an uncontrolable moment with pearl embellishments ... nothing quite beats the look of a nice pearl flourish! LOL
Anyway, this LO is mostly built on layering, you can see the foreground consists of the girl on the swing and all the wood flourishes, next the stamped border contains all the background layers. This is a great technique for getting lots of beautiful papers into one layout... I encourage people to give it try!
Thanks for visiting... smiles from Kel.

Miss Match Layout

Introducing the new 'Miss Match' collection from Kaisercraft. This collection is very well named ... the papers in this layout are the most flowery pinks I could find in this range, but there are also loads of greens, mustards and blues in this collection too ... quite the 'Miss Match' indeed!
This collection is also choc-a-block full of cute embellishments like the bingo cards you can see tucked in here and there on the layout. The main flower is one of the beautiful pink country garden roses from Manor House Creations and finally you can also see I've used my new favourite wood flourishes ... the small hinges ... how cute are these little guys!! LOL
Thanks for dropping by for a look.
