Merry and Bright

This final layout that I have made with the Merry and Bright Collection is a nice simple one ... I love the chinese lanterns and as always, the asian feel of this whole collection.

I did some masking with a crafters workshop template that had these adorable tiny leaves on it ... you will definitely be seeing more of these on my pages ... I LOVE them! LOL

I'm also still a big fan of using the border stamps to create an almost wrought iron window frame feel for pages, and Kaisercraft have come out with some stunning border stamps lately, so I'm quite pleased with that!

Anyway, thanks for dropping by...

Merry and Bright Layout

Today I'm sharing one of the layouts I've made using the Merry and Bright Collection. As usual I've completely ignored the Christmas theme these papers were intended for and followed a more retro/oriental theme.

I must confess a crime of connivence here as well ... the outside border is a Martha Stuart punch that a friend had when she came to the shop to visit ... after watching her use it for a while I decided I just had to give it a go around this page ... so there you have it ... not my bright idea at all! LOL But its hard to argue that these generous around the page border punches dont have a stunning impact.

Actually on the same day another friend came to visit and gave me that lovely lace you see on the bottom of the page, so all I needed to come up with was some wood flourishes, a few metallic leaves and that cute resin bird.

It was a fun layout to put together ... thanks for dropping by for a look!
Cheers from Kel.

Merry & Bright Cards

Just a few cards to share today... made with the Merry and Bright Collection. So even though this is ment to be a Christmas range with a difference, I have chosen to completely focus on the 'difference'!

I love the oriental feel of these papers and the 'baubles' make fabulous lanterns and give these cards a real festive feel. The perfect effect for birthday cards!!

I almost always use the 'Birthday' or 'Card Sentiments' Rub-ons from Kaisercraft when making cards. Occasionally I'll stamp the phrases but Rub-ons are just so easy ... a crime of connivence really! LOL

Well thanks for popping over for look, Have a great week.
Cheers from Kel.

Butterfly Kisses Cards

Oh my gosh I LOVE the Butterfly Kisses Collection ... how bright and fun they all are!!
These cards were a joy to make ... and between you and I just could have kept going ... it would be so easy to knock up a dozen cards using these coordinating elements.

Everything bright and beautiful is contained in these papers and I'm really drawn to them ... the only flaw in the collection is that they really are made for girls!!

I think the only collection I like more for card making was the 'Save the Date Collection' as that was very age and gender neutral ... buy hey .... this one is coming in a VERY close second!! LOL

Periwinkle Cards

This set of cards made using the Periwinkle Collection were great fun to knock up ... I'm LOVIN all the birds and ballons in this collection and the earthy colours are just so romantic!!

I'm sure my obsession with romance is the reason why I struggle so much with male cards... LOL.

Pearls feature a lot in these cards and they really bring something special to the canvas ... its the same with scrapbook pages, I find a few pearls always lift a page.

Thanks for dropping by for look,
Cheers from Kel.

Periwinkle Layout

Today I have a very romantic layout to share made using the Periwinkle Collection. This is a beautiful heritage collection full of birds, roses and hot air ballons ...all the 'In' things right now in scrapbooking.

I've tried to make a central feature of the ribbon roses in this layout ...
I LOVE the Kaisercraft ribbon roses ... they are soft, pretty, romantic and will sit relatively flat inside a plastic sleeve ... you almost couldn't ask for more in an embellishment! LOL

You will also notice I managed to scrape up some gorgeous little white resin birds to go on this layout ... I can't remember the name of the company that made them, but I'll have to find out and let you know because they are divine!

Thanks for stopping to look.

Sat. Sketch #3 Oct 2012

The Saturday Sketch sample on the Kaisercraft Blog used the Butterfly Kisses Collection this week, which looked good to me, so I followed it pretty closely ... how cute is this whole collection!!

The butterfly paper with the already perforated butterflies is just divine and such an easy way to get into  a page ... with all my little girls I'm sure I'll be using this collection loads in the future!

Cheers from Kel.

Turtle Dove Layout

This layout made with the Turtle Dove Collection is my favourite Christmas page so far this year... the photo is a silly disorganised one, but precious to me none the less and I loved the special feel that these papers and embellishments brought to my layout.
This is also the the very thing I adore most about scrapbooking ... you truly don't need the best photos in the world to bring to life the best memories in your life, you can build that yourself buy adding colour, texture and movement ... if scrapbooking were a person I would be hugging them right now!
Thanks for dropping by,

Sat. Sketch #2 Aug 2012

What an excellent sketch Kaisercraft put this week! Here I have used the Sears and Son collection to follow this sketch:

Sears and Son is a strong male collection, but I just couldn't resist the challenge to do a layout with a girly feel using these earthy papers... the birds you can see are made from the moustaches found in the die cut pack and the banners are actually ties from the sticker sheet!
Have a great day...

Kaisercraft March Sketch #4

This is a layout I made from the 'Seaside' paper collection to enter in the Kaisercraft monthly sketch competition that they run on their blog ... so here is the sketch...

The original layout that the sketch was based on was all very girly and featured butterflies, so I thought I would swing in the other direction and go for a boy orientated layout with a bird feature.
It's always a challenge to work on a male layout as I have so many butterflies and flowers floating around in my head! I'll have to take this approach more often ... I would like to learn how to properly adopt the shabby chic style to all things masculine .... watch this space to see if I succeed!! LOL

Secret Bird Society

Well just for something a bit different I thought I would show you a challenge myself and some friends got up to last week ... we were sitting about wondering what to scrapbook and came across a sketch in a magazine that we all thought we might have a go at ... using pretty much the same papers as well, these are the 3 pages we each made ... it was a really fun afternoon of scraping, owing mostly to the fabulous company, but also I just LOVE a good challenge!! My layout above also contained a personal challenge to scrap more than just one photo on a page ... I'm keen to do this more often as I have about a MILLION photos to scrap and will never get there if I keep doing one photo per page!! LOL
