Saturday Sketch #4 Feb 2013

So my Sketch Layout this week is a bit of a scrapbooking mashup!!
Mostly I've used the Just Believe Collection ... but the background is actually
from the Base Coat Collection and I've even thrown in a few bits of the 75 Cents Collection!!

It is only very loosely based on the sketch below from the Kaisercraft Blog... I've used many of the same elements, but I decided in the end to forgo the journaling in favour of a second photo.

I loved the colours on this page ... with 4 daughters, sometimes I can get pinked to death ... so it was really nice to focus on the reds and browns for a change, and even though the Just believe Collection was actually released as a Christmas collection, it works beautifully anytime with those gorgeous red roses and chunky leaf cut-outs.

Thanks for stopping by for a look.
Cheers from Kel.

Flora Delight Cards

Today I'm here to share some cards made from the Flora Delight Collection.

These were impressively easy to put together ... while I can find the Die Cut Collectables difficult to incorporate into a layout, they were simply made for card making!

The collectables made coordinating and nesting so easy. All these cards ended up quite feminine and beautiful yet still bold and bright

For the card makers out there....
I can highly recommend this collection for making some wonderful bright easy cards.

Cheers from Kelly-ann.

Flora Delight Layout

Today I'm sharing a layout I made with the Flora Delight Collection.
I'm actually finding this collection a little hard to work with!! My usual style involves lots of distressing, aging and generally turning the pages into something shabby chic ... but these bold and beautiful colours are making all that somewhat difficult...
Still I'm enjoying the challenge. This was the first layout I made using this collection and I'm please to say I got better at it with each subsequent layout!! LOL

I suppose it is quite good to stretch your usual style to new things... a couple of the collections this month has certainly helped me do that.

I'm encouraged to be working like this ... every month I get a kit of each new kaisercraft collection and create as many pages/cards/BTP projects as I can from the kit.

The beauty of this approach is that I find myself working with papers I never would have chosen myself... sometimes they turn out to be favourites ... you just never know.

But I know for sure I LOVE the challenge!! LOL

Smiles from Kel.

Saturday Sketch #3 Feb 2013

For this Sketch I did a copy cat thing and used the Floral Delight Collection and Stuck to the sketch as closely as  could.... I really like this sketch and sample so I was quite happy to simply reproduce this week!

There are no fantastic nor amazing techniques to report here ... just a bit of stamping in the back ground really ... the rest was all just a matter of getting my hands on the right products and sticking them down.

And this is the sketch it was all based on...

Thanks for stopping by for a look.
Cheers from Kel.

Saturday Sketch #2 Feb 2013

For this weeks Saturday Sketch I have used the beautiful
Butterfly Kisses Collection released a few months back ...
it was perfect for my miss matched photo of one of my little daughter all dressed up and asleep!

The sketch was easy to follow and the embellishments in this collection lent themselves to the task beautifully.

I have used my favourite Martha Stewart punch (Cherish) around the outside of this page and I feel like it really makes it.... and of course no page is complete for me until I've managed to get a few butterflies in there! LOL

Here is the sketch its all based on:
Thanks for stopping by for a look.

Suga Pop Layout

OK, so I'm going to call this layout I did with the Suga Pop Collection a failed experiement.
I know you dont often hear this here ... but i don't like this page!
Just being honest.

I was stepping out on a branch and using a heavily patterened paper as a background. Now I know why I steer clear of this kind of scrapping!! I must confess I find this layout too busy for my liking ... or maybe too crowded is a better word!?

In any case I lack the skills to pull this kind of back ground paper off, so perhaps this will be the first and last of this kind of experiment you will find on my blog! LOL

I hope your scrapping has been progressing at a far better pace than my own...
Smiles and a wink from Kel.

Sat. Sketch #1 Feb 2013

This sketch was a real chalenge... and I was determined to just use one colour this time from the
Suga Pop Collection so this one was a real stretch for me!

I love that Kaisercraft always come out with an Easter collection each year... it means I'm up to date with at least these kinds of photos as each Easter I scrap up the photos from the year before. But when I found this old one of my big girl who started school last week I couldn't resist ... look at that chocolate face!! LOL

Anyway, this time the wood flourishes and background stenciling are the heros of the page which I was really happy with in the end. I must confess I'm not a huge fan of Owls as embellishments  but By-George they big in scrapbooking circles these days, so I just went with it ... it's good to move out of the usual and try something different!?

Here is the sketch that it is all based on...

Thanks for stopping by for a look.
Cheers from Kelly-ann.

75 Cents & Base Coat

Today I'm sharing a layout inspired by the Base Coat Collection of papers.
All the brick work papers are from the Base Coat Collection and the few other embellishments on the page are borrowed from the 75 Cents Collection.
This page was all about layering... simply adding a few shapes and squares to the back ground to create a 'poster on the wall' feel.
I adore those new wood flourish corners ... Kaisercraft have just released quite a number of these and they are all gorgeous ... I think they are the perfect embellishment to any page! I'm sure you will be seeing more on my pages anyway! LOL

Thanks for popping by for look.
Cheers from Kelly-ann.

75 Cents Cards

Today I have used the 75 cents collection to make up some cards for men. This was sooooo hard for me ... I already miss all my flowers and butterflies!! LOL

I find I feel like my mens cards are a bit empty ... but my husband assures me men prefere it that way?? I'm not entirely convinced of that ... but as it stands I was happy just to work with layers for these cards.

I would entirely embarrass myself if I were to reveal how many cards i now have in my stash ... and not two would be the same either!! Still I cant help myself, the left over papers in the Kaiser craft Paper pad and embellishments after making my layouts just scream out for card making to me!

I'm quite keen to see what others have come up with using this range, so please feel free to leave links to your own projects if you to have made cards using this rich and earthy collection.

Cheers from Kel.

75 Cents Layout

Today I'm sharing a layout I have made with the 75 Cents Collection. This is a rustic and very shabby chic collection that I'm sure will prove to be extremely popular... all the colours are divine to work with being very cool and neutral for the most part.

In this layout I concentrated on just layering up the papers and adding a few embellies as I went... I was very temped to go further over the top with these, but sometimes simple is better and I think that was the case here.

If you can get your hands on this collection then I definitely recommend you give it a try... it's perfect in particular for any adult photos or vintage shots.

Thanks for stoping by for a look
Cheers from Kel.

Sat. Sketch #4 Jan 2013

I loved this weeks sketch and had a ball putting it together with the Marigold Collection.
I used my favourite Doily mask again as well... I simple adore the effect this creates on backgrounds!

Besides the masking, everything on this page is pretty straight forward... pearls, stickers, a few collectables and some sewing on the outside edge.

This is the sketch that the layout is based on:
