Saturday Sketch #5 March 2013

For the sketch today I have used the Lulu and Roy Collection.

I really like the way this collection can be both masculine and feminine at the same time!!?
The sketch was an easy one to follow and the collectables pack in this range had LOADS of embellies to chose from so this page came together quite easily in the end.

when I look at this layout I realise all over again that photos REALLY DO look better presented in scrapbook pages ... this is why I love doing this hobby! LOL

Thanks for looking...

Bundle of Joy Cards

Today I'm sharing a few cards I made using the Bundle of Joy Collection

These truly are the most lovely of all the baby collections that Kaisercraft have ever released.
I found the cards really easy to make as the collectables really are perfect for card making.

The colours in this paper range are the real heros, soft and vintage they are so easy to work with for either layouts of cards. And the 'boy' papers are actually more of a mint than a true blue so you could use them for any baby theme.

Thanks for stopping by for a look.
Cheers from Kel.

Saturday Sketch #4 March 2013

For todays Saturday Sketch I've used the delightful new Bundle of Joy Collection.
And just to prove it's not only for baby pages, I've done this layout of my daughter on her 5th birthday... she loves all things pink and pretty, so this collection was just perfect for it.

I must admit I got a tad excited with this layout and kind of forgot about the sketch...
It's still based on the sketch and you can kind of see it in there... if you squint your eyes just right!!! LOL

Anyway, I loved the butterflies and cherubs in this collection so I've used as many as possible on this page and in the end I decided to make my own vine of flowers. it's amazing the way as scrapbooking evolves you find yourself circling back around to techniques and tools that have been sitting in the draw unused for years. I'm currently rediscovering all my old punches... and wondering why I ever stopped using them?

Anyway... this is the sketch below that the layout was based on...

Thanks for stopping by for a look.
Cheers from Kel.

Lavender Haze Cards

Just a few cards to share today using the Lavender Haze Collection.

These are all very simple and quick cards, made just through inking edges and layering up a few bits and pieces from the collectables pack.

This is quite an eclectic range to work with, and very feminine as well, but it does have the slightly grungy look to it as well which I think makes it a little bit more fun than the dainty girly papers you see so much of these days!! LOL

I quite liked working with dragon files for a change from butterflies as well!

Have a great day...
Cheers from Kel.

Lavender Haze Layout

Just a quick post today ... this is a layout I made using the new Lavender Haze Collection.

This a surprisingly good collection to work with, usually I'm not attracted to anything very pastel, but the redeeming feature for this range is that it also contains a strong set of bolder colours as well and those wonderful black grunge marks and flourish swirls that appear on many of the pages.

I do love this photo of my daughter, but I have had it sitting in my photo stash for ages as it just seemed too dark to use. But this collection was perfect for it ... a bit of black to compliment the darkness in the photo but lots of light colours to lift the photo up out of the darkness as well.

Do you have any darker girls photos that you find difficult to scrap? Well this might just be the collection you have been looking for to help you with that!

Thanks for visiting...

Saturday Sketch #3 March 2013

For this weeks Sketch I have used the In The Attic Collection.
This was such a simple sketch to pull together ... i love those kinds of sketches!!

This vintage style collection is so lovely to work with, the bright reds and greens set of this black and white photo beautifully.

Again I have used more of the new printed tape from Kaisercraft which I just adore.

Here is the original sketch the layout is based on:

In The Attic Cards

Oh my Gosh I'm LOVIN this new In The Attic Collection!!
How bright and beautiful are these papers?

Card making was a bit more of  challenge with these papers as there was just so many combinations to choose from. They were a pleasure to work with none the less... with so many iconic elements to play with and loads of quote panels included in the collectables pack.

You can't go wrong these days with anything reto or vintage and this collection certainly delivers those two elements in abundance. I believe anyone who likes this kind of style will have a ball using this collection.

Thanks for stopping by for look.

Saturday Sketch #2 March 2013

Well this week I have used the Lavender Haze Collection for my Saturday Sketch.... this whole collection is just perfect for little girls!

The sample page for the sketch this week was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and inspired me no end. This is the sketch that it's based on...

I mostly used a whole lot of border punches and ink on this page... the ink I used was quite a bright red one ... I always use a red ink when working with pinks as I think it frames all pink tones wonderfully.

O have also used the large stamp that came with this collection to make this flourish image...

I'm still so impressed with Kaisercraft stamps... they are so diverse and beautiful and as you can see, match the collections perfectly!

Thanks for stopping by for a look.
Cheers from Kelly-ann.

In The Attic Layout

So today I'm THRILLED to be showing off what would have to be my new favourite paper range... the divine In The Attic Collection!

oh how I love all these deep reds and browns with just a hint of lime greens mixed in here and there. I suspect I'm really showing my age now as all the old icons in this collection really are the bits and bobs I grew up with... the old vinals, leather bound books and especially those old suitcases!!

I actually chose these photos to go with these papers because I have some photos of myself as a baby sitting about with dads empty beer bottle trying to extract something from the bottom in order to work out what all the fuss was about this forbidden drink!!? And I've seen countless others over the years as well, it seems most parents will grab a camera and get a 'oh thats so cute' photo when the baby grabs a beer bottle, so running along those lines I decided this was a classic theme and needed a classic collection to make it work.

I can promise you that these kind of photos just never worked for me on the soft baby pastels or traditional pinks ... it's very difficult to make a page look pretty and pink when your subject is a kid with a green and red beer bottle! LOL

In any case i was very happy with how this turned out in the end, but I suppose these are my favourite colours so i was bound to fall head first into this one!!

Thanks for stopping by for a look.
Cheers from Kel.

Lulu And Roy Cards

So here are my cards made from the Lulu and Roy Collection.

I love that this collection can be so feminine and soft and yet have so many blues and bold striking colours in it!!

The cards were very easy to pull together with all the Quote panels that are included in this collection ... and lets face it, you can hardly go wrong with quotes from Marvin Gaye and the Beatles!!! LOL

This collection actually reminds me a lot of may Websters papers that are out there these days with the eclectic collection of flowers peeking in from the edges of pages... what ever formula Kaisercraft are using to come up with these new ranges, it is working... this collection is both beautiful to look at and beautiful to work with!
