Dusty Attic Vines

Ok, so this is a shock ... I actually had a go at designing with a few Dusty Attic products and laid my beloved Kaisercraft embellishments aside for a moment!! Thats still Kaisercraft papers there in the back ground, but the yummy vine, beautiful flowers and all the chipboard extras are from dusty Attic.

This was such a fun layout to make, I had challenged myself not to use that vine on the corner of a photo.... which is the way you see these kind of embellishments used usually, so gracefully flowing down over the photo seemed like a reasonable alternative.

I love the cascading flowers effect and its achieved easily when everything is naturally running down the page... the pearls creating a wisteria effect worked really well for me also... they are actually my favourite part of this page!!

I've also tossed in some metal leaves and keys to add more texture and dimension  The paper leave there are also Dusty Attic's own, but I love to mix media and thought that the metal leaves really added depth to the page and helped to lift the vine and flowers.

Thanks for popping over for a look.
Cheers from Kelly-ann.

Sat. Sketch #4 Oct 2012

Oh my gosh I'm loving this new Pickled Pear Collection ... that has totally taken me by surprise... normally I'm drawn to all the pretty bright things like the Butterfly Kisses Collection , a by product of having 4 gorgeous girls to scrapbook I suppose ... but over the last few weeks of using this collection I've myself completely loving it ... all the beautiful rich earthy colours are just divine.

This is what I love the most about designing with all the kaisercraft collections, it challenges me to work with papers I would not normal be attracted to, and low and behold I find a new favourite in the most unexpected places. LOL

This layout was based on the sketch below ...
I'm a bit late this time with the sketch, but hey ... better late than never!!\

Thanks for looking ... cheers from Kel.

Sat. Sketch #2 Aug 2012

What an excellent sketch Kaisercraft put this week! Here I have used the Sears and Son collection to follow this sketch:

Sears and Son is a strong male collection, but I just couldn't resist the challenge to do a layout with a girly feel using these earthy papers... the birds you can see are made from the moustaches found in the die cut pack and the banners are actually ties from the sticker sheet!
Have a great day...

More Save the Date Cards

Just a few more cards using the Save the Date collection from Kaisercraft ... I'm loving the gender neutral  nature of this collection. You could give these cards to either a boy or a girl and I find layouts are the same also. I really like that quality in a paper collection - versatility!
Have a great day.... smiles from Kel.

Sat. Sketch #1 Aug 2012

What an awesome sketch to kick August off with ... I've used more of the 'Save the Date' collection for this challenge and am having a ball digging out all the kids old birthday photos to use with this fun range.
I've mostly stuck with the die cuts from the collectables pack and some of the cute little epoxy stickers as well. I'm really loving the way this collection will bend itself to either girl or boy pages ... I like that kind of flexibility in my papers!

Anyway, here is the sketch that this layout is based on...

Save The Date Cards...

Just a couple of Happy Birthday cards today using the Save the Date collection ... of course this collection just SCREAMS Birthday Cards!! LOL
Here I've used some of the papers and elements out of the collectables pack and a few rhinestones for bling ... nice, easy and effective!
Thanks for dropping by for a look...

Save the Date Layout

I'm really excited today to introduce the Save the Date collection from Kaisercraft .... this is an AWESOME bunch of papers and matching embellishments... and probably Kaisercraft's biggest collection yet!

So as the name suggests this one is all about the PARTY .... birthday, celebration, wedding, anything you like really ( although it would have to be a pretty funky wedding if  you using these invites and coordinates LOL).

Being the proud owner of 6 gorgeous kiddies I must tell you I have more birthday photos hanging about the place than you can poke a stick at !
And I'm no scrapbook snob ...
I'm not waiting until I find the perfect colour to match the shirt in my birthday photos ... NO WAY!
It's quite an easy formula these days for me...

Birthday Photos + Party Papers = Easy, Hassle Free Layouts!! LOL

So yeah, as you can imagine I'm quite chuffed at the new collection ... I can't thank Kaisercraft enough for making my job that much easier! [smiles and rolls eyes!!]

Have a great day ... smiles from Kel.

A Layout with Attitude...

Today I have another layout made using the fun and grungy 'Attitude' collection from Kaisercraft. This layout is a bit of a second page to my previous layout using this range. Again this was really easy to pull together, these papers just take all the guess work of coordinating!! LOL

I'm still having a little addiction to string and safety pins which work wonderfully with all things boy! It's good to have these tools in my bag-of-scrapbook-tricks that I can pull out when needed. In fact when faced with male layouts of any kind I find myself starting with all the same basics .... buttons, wood flourishes, stars, string, grunge stamps, safety pins, bugs and circles. For feminine pages I always reach for butterflies, pearls, flowers and masks.

What formulas do you use for your scrapping?

One More Miss Match Layout

This was the first Layout I did using the lovely Miss Match Collection, and it remains my favourite... I love that it is all flowery and girly without being overpoweringly pink ... I'm a HUGE fan of the deep peach colours in this collection. As you can see I also had a bit of an uncontrolable moment with pearl embellishments ... nothing quite beats the look of a nice pearl flourish! LOL
Anyway, this LO is mostly built on layering, you can see the foreground consists of the girl on the swing and all the wood flourishes, next the stamped border contains all the background layers. This is a great technique for getting lots of beautiful papers into one layout... I encourage people to give it try!
Thanks for visiting... smiles from Kel.

Saturday Sketch #1 July 2012

I have used the lovely 'Miss Match' collection to create my layout for this weeks Saturday Sketch over at the Kaisercraft Blog... I never used to like banners, but I'm really warming to them now!! LOL I've  also used kaisercraft buttons and the butterfly stamps from the Tigerlilly collection.

And here is the sketch it was based on...

Thanks for stopping by for a look!

From Screen 2 Scrap June Challenge

Well It's been a couple of months but I thought I would have another crack at the monthly challenge over at From Screen 2 Scrap .... and here it is!
So here is the movie inspiration for my Layout:

So the challenge is to create a layout based on this movie poster and using the following criteria...

1 point – multicolours
2 points – hair related photos
3 points – 10 squares

As you can see I have actually managed to squeeze on 11 squares ( some are behind the title) and SIX photos!!! Oh my .... just saying it makes my head light!!! I'm sooooo used to parading only one photo on a page that putting 6 on there left me somewhat at a loss as to what to do next!? LOL

These photos were taken at a 60's dance party ... check out the gel in the boys hair! They loved it and were addicted to hair gel after that!

The girls don't have any special hair do's though ... they are girls ... I was lucky to get them to even wear those dresses as they all match and if there is one thing little girls like to do, it's stand out ... NOT look like everyone else! LOL

Anyway, this was a really fun layout to do and it gives you a sneak peak at one of next months new paper collections from Kaisercraft ... the 'Miss Match' collection lives up to it's name for sure, but is fun and funky all the same and these gorgeous polaroid frames come in an embellishment pack that go with the collection.

Thanks for dropping by for a look.
Smiles from Kel.

Check-In Cards

Well there was no getting around the 'travel' nature of the Check-In collection when it came to making cards with these fun new papers and embellishments ... fortunately for me I know LOTS of people who travel these days so a few 'Bon Voyage' cards will never go astray in my card box! LOL.
Once again the Acetate embellishments were the heros here,
making designing all these cards SUPER easy!!

Thanks for dropping by for a look...
