Botanical Odyssey Cards

Toady I have some more of the funky Botanical Odyssey Collection ... these papers were a bit fun to make cards with actually ... you will have to forgive the crappy stamping I've done on these cards though, it's been a while and I think I might have to put more time and effort into perfecting word stamping ... or just give up and use rub-ons from now on! LOL

I'll let you in on a little secret and tell you the real winning combination with Kaisercraft products at the moment (not just with this range but in general) when it comes to card making...  is that nothing can beat how easy it is to use their new square card packs in combination  with the 6.5" paper pad and a pack of collectables!!
These are soooooo easy to put together that it's outrageous! you could easily make 20 cards  ( or more) from one paper pad and still have dozens of collectables left for other projects.
Why not try it?
Grab a paper pad, a pkt of collectables and give it a go ...
how many cards will you get out of this challenge?
Cards ... you can never have enough of them!

Have a great week folks... smiles from Kel

Botanical Odyssey Layout

Today I'm here to introduce the new Botanical Odyssey Collection. This range is almost retro in its colours and composition and oh so bright!

OK so confession time .... my only inspiration for this page was that I really just wanted to try out this long forgotten technique of cutting a window opening in a page and mounting the photo behind it!! LOL

To be honest, I think the photo I have used here is a tad too big for this technique... something smaller would have settled on the page with a more aesthetically pleasing effect I think ... so this one was a good lesson for me ... bigger is NOT always better!!

But I am LOVIN the butterflies in this collection, they abound in huge numbers everywhere which is right up my ally... the stamp set for this range would have to be my favourite though... check them out:

How lovely are they??!!!
You will lots more of these on my layouts in the future I can guarantee that!

Thanks for stopping by for a look.
Smiles from kel.

Twig and Berry Layout

This layout made with the new Twig & Berry Collection is just the beginning of a wave of Christmas ideas coming our way over the next month!

I must admit I feel panic set in at the thought of Christmas being brought up already ... but then I console myself with the idea that if I get onto it now, I'll be more than ready by the time December the first rolls around! LOL

So with this layout I have used the die cut paper from the collection and made the rosettes from a Tim holtz die. most of the bits and bobs added to the page are from the collectables pack and I have used the lovely flourish stamp from this range to create the green swirls you can see in the background.

I have loads of Christmas photos and it's just one of my favourite times of the year so I'm looking forward to sharing loads more of these layouts with you in the next few weeks!
Cheers from Kelly-ann.

One More Miss Match Layout

This was the first Layout I did using the lovely Miss Match Collection, and it remains my favourite... I love that it is all flowery and girly without being overpoweringly pink ... I'm a HUGE fan of the deep peach colours in this collection. As you can see I also had a bit of an uncontrolable moment with pearl embellishments ... nothing quite beats the look of a nice pearl flourish! LOL
Anyway, this LO is mostly built on layering, you can see the foreground consists of the girl on the swing and all the wood flourishes, next the stamped border contains all the background layers. This is a great technique for getting lots of beautiful papers into one layout... I encourage people to give it try!
Thanks for visiting... smiles from Kel.

Miss Match Layout

Introducing the new 'Miss Match' collection from Kaisercraft. This collection is very well named ... the papers in this layout are the most flowery pinks I could find in this range, but there are also loads of greens, mustards and blues in this collection too ... quite the 'Miss Match' indeed!
This collection is also choc-a-block full of cute embellishments like the bingo cards you can see tucked in here and there on the layout. The main flower is one of the beautiful pink country garden roses from Manor House Creations and finally you can also see I've used my new favourite wood flourishes ... the small hinges ... how cute are these little guys!! LOL
Thanks for dropping by for a look.
Smiles from Kelly-ann.

The Lakehouse LO

This is another really simple LO using the new ' TheLakehouse' collection from Kaisercraft, there are no tricky techniques going on here, just some paper arranging!! As always I can't resist a bit of sewing on the page ... it just so easily adds something extra to pages in my opinion! And then are all those gorgeous stickers that are so easy to plaster where ever your heart desires LOL.
Now for my one pearl of wisdom ... EVERY girly page looks better with some pearl strips on it somewhere ... seriously .... you should try it ... take a girly LO ( any LO will do) and add a boarder of complimenting coloured pearl strips ... you WILL be amazed!! LOL

Saturday Sketch #3 May

For this weeks sketch I have used the Magnolia Grove paper collection again, but this time I just focused in on all the soft blues and greens in the paper range. This photo was always going to be difficult to scrap with all those colours going on in there ( maybe I should have printed it in black and white?!!) so I focused on a soft page to highlight and frame the photo itself.
And here is the sketch it was all based on...

As you can see I flipped the image over for my sketch and also added an enormous amount of extra everything ... just the way I like my scrapbooking pages!!! LOL If you would like to give the sketch a try, THIS is the link to the Kaisercraft Blog where you can find the challenge ...Good Luck.

Saturday Sketch #1 May

How wonderful it was to play with the new Magnolia Grove paper collection... oh these papers are soooo divine, I just adore all the colours! I've also used some 'Shrinky Dinks' to create the little butterflies you can see in this LO, that stuff is so much fun to play with, but I almost lost the wee little butterflies 100 times before I got them finally stuck on the page!! LOL I also hailed back to my flower making days with this sketch, the three roses at the bottom were made from a 5 petal flower punch!
So below you can see the sketch that this page was based on ... lucky it's an interpretation eh! LOL

These Days & Wood Flourishes

Another layout using the 'These Days' collection from Kaisercraft ... Oh how I'm loving these papers ... actually this page is mostly covered by stickers from the collection.... and of course there are some of those GORGEOUS wood flourishes that Kaisercraft are so famous for. The frame around the photo is from the Acetate Frames also by Kaiser. The circle around the photo was something I stamped free hand .... that will teach me!! It's all lopsided now ... it's back to the old rules from me folks ..."Measure twice, cut once" !!!! Patience truly is a virtue : )  LOL The title was cut on a Cricut and the swirls around the outside were just done free hand. I'm having a bit of fun playing with acetate at the moment too, If you haven't had a go at this medium yet let me encourage you to give it a hit!!

Thanks so much for visiting ... I REALLY appreciate it : )

Lil' Primrose Layout

Another Layout using the Lil' Primrose collection ... this is such a beautiful and soft paper range, I couldn't resist doing this photo of Daisy with my Father ... such a topic needs a soft touch!!
I mostly used a lot of elements from the sticker sheet on this layout so it was a simple and quick layout to pull together. I must say I'm surprised at how good the title letters look ... when I first saw them i thought them just awful ( they reminded me of barbed wire!!), but now that I have seen them used, I love them ...some times you just have to get your hands on a product to truly appreciate it!! LOL
