Check-In Layout

This layout made using the new 'Check-In' paper collection came as a bit of a surprise to me ... when I first saw the collection I was struggling with what to do with it ... I don't travel ... with 6 kids in tow all I do is cook and clean!!
But I was trilled to find many of the quotes in the collection had generic meanings and could be used even in non-travel related subjects ... so as it turns out this was one of the easiest pages I've had the pleasure of putting together in ages! And thanks to all the acetate embellishments it all fell together without much effort on my part at all! LOL
Thanks for stopping by for a look. Smiles from Kel xo.

The Lakehouse LO

This is another really simple LO using the new ' TheLakehouse' collection from Kaisercraft, there are no tricky techniques going on here, just some paper arranging!! As always I can't resist a bit of sewing on the page ... it just so easily adds something extra to pages in my opinion! And then are all those gorgeous stickers that are so easy to plaster where ever your heart desires LOL.
Now for my one pearl of wisdom ... EVERY girly page looks better with some pearl strips on it somewhere ... seriously .... you should try it ... take a girly LO ( any LO will do) and add a boarder of complimenting coloured pearl strips ... you WILL be amazed!! LOL

Saturday Sketch #2 May

Well here we are with another Saturday Sketch ... This time I've used the new 'Rockpool' collection from Kaisercraft, I adore all the earthy tones in this paper collection, they even tie in with all the bright beach photos I have of all my kids ... in fact they seem to compliment the colours rather than compete for attention ... I think that is my favourite thing about the Rockpool papers. I have again fallen in love with Droplets it seems, after forgetting that they existed for a couple of years (LOL)... droplets are the little blue epoxy drops you can see all over this page .... rhinestones and pearls might be perfect for girly pages, but droplets are just the thing for boy pages!!
This is also my favourite Saturday Sketch by Kaisercraft so far ... I love that there wasn't too much on the sketch which ment I had more scope for making things up myself!!
And here is a copy of the sketch:

As you can see for my layout I flipped this sketch once to the right.
If anyone else would like to try out this Sketch and enter the Saturday Sketch comp over on the Kaisercraft Blog, then just follow THIS link. Good Luck and have a great week.
Smiles from Kel.

Magnolia Grove Cards

Here are some cards made from the lovely new 'Magnolia Grove' paper collection... they were so simple to make by just using different back grounds from the paper pad and this wonder bit of paper...

As you can see all I had to do was cut up the 12x12 sheet to get 12 perfect little fronts to my cards ... a few bits and bobs (such as ribbon, flowers and bling) and the cards practically made themselves!! LOL
I love the 6 1/2" square paper pads, they just make cards soooo easy to pull together... and then there are the classic little finishing touches like the Martha Stuart Butterfly Punch ... when I die from too much scrapbooking I want that punch placed in the coffin beside me ... as I simple cannot part with it ...ever!

Charoltte's Dream Cards

A few cards made from the lovely Charlotte's Dream Collection ... I just adore all the gloss varnish papers in this collection  especially the paper pad that is packed full of them! Also for the first time ever I actually cracked out the sewing machine and used it on some cards ... sewing just looks on ANYTHING!! LOL

Charoltte's Dream Lay Out

My first Layout made using the beautiful new 'Charlotte's Dream' Collection from Kaisercraft ... how etherel these papers are ... very 'dreamy' indeed. The browns and pinks are perfect for heritage photos, but I was thrilled to see how well my baby photos also looked with this range ... perfect for my dainty little Abby! The collection very much was made to focus on Mothers Day with lots of die-cut words like 'mother', 'love' and 'forever' ... but it was very easy to cut off just enough to turn the word 'Mother' into 'her'! LOL
This collection reminds me a lot of the 'Sweet Nothings' paper range, which also has these divine subtle shades and patterns buried deep in their designs, the two collections will marry together perfectly I image ... that might need to be my next 'challenge'!!?
cheers from Kel.

Kaisercraft March Sketch #5

Ok so I couldn't resist entering one more sketch ... in fact I think I'll do them every Saturday as I enjoy the challenge so much! LOL.  This is the sketch I based the layout on, but I turned it once to the right...

For this layout I used a mixture of papers from the 'Great Southern Land' and 'Tigerlilly' collection, KC blooms and some 'Gypsy Sisters' Rub-on. And of course Bling ... more bling than you can poke a stick at!! LOL

Kaisercraft March Sketch #4

This is a layout I made from the 'Seaside' paper collection to enter in the Kaisercraft monthly sketch competition that they run on their blog ... so here is the sketch...

The original layout that the sketch was based on was all very girly and featured butterflies, so I thought I would swing in the other direction and go for a boy orientated layout with a bird feature.
It's always a challenge to work on a male layout as I have so many butterflies and flowers floating around in my head! I'll have to take this approach more often ... I would like to learn how to properly adopt the shabby chic style to all things masculine .... watch this space to see if I succeed!! LOL
