Suga Pop Layout

OK, so I'm going to call this layout I did with the Suga Pop Collection a failed experiement.
I know you dont often hear this here ... but i don't like this page!
Just being honest.

I was stepping out on a branch and using a heavily patterened paper as a background. Now I know why I steer clear of this kind of scrapping!! I must confess I find this layout too busy for my liking ... or maybe too crowded is a better word!?

In any case I lack the skills to pull this kind of back ground paper off, so perhaps this will be the first and last of this kind of experiment you will find on my blog! LOL

I hope your scrapping has been progressing at a far better pace than my own...
Smiles and a wink from Kel.

Sat. Sketch #2 Nov 2012

I was a little behind in my sketches so I'm doing them back to back to catch up!
This time I have used  the new Merry & Bright Collection to complete this sketch.

This is supposed to be a Christmas collection, but as you'll see from my next few posts you can get away with using this one on any theme. In fact I have not used this collection in a Christmas format at all in any of the projects I have been making with this range. It has a lovely oriental feel to it so thats the theme I've gone with as I'm all Christmased out now!!

I actually found the sketch a bit busy so I scaled the activity back for my layout ... which is not like me I know - but sometimes you have to try something different! LOL

Here is the sketch it's based on...

Thanks for taking time to drop by for a look.
Cheers from Kelly-ann

Periwinkle Layout

Today I have a very romantic layout to share made using the Periwinkle Collection. This is a beautiful heritage collection full of birds, roses and hot air ballons ...all the 'In' things right now in scrapbooking.

I've tried to make a central feature of the ribbon roses in this layout ...
I LOVE the Kaisercraft ribbon roses ... they are soft, pretty, romantic and will sit relatively flat inside a plastic sleeve ... you almost couldn't ask for more in an embellishment! LOL

You will also notice I managed to scrape up some gorgeous little white resin birds to go on this layout ... I can't remember the name of the company that made them, but I'll have to find out and let you know because they are divine!

Thanks for stopping to look.
Smiles from Kel.

Sat. Sketch #4 Sep 2012

For todays Saturday Sketch I've used some paper from the Turtle Dove Collection and a patterned paper from the Madam Boutique Collection. This sketch had quite a specific shape to it that I didn't have a hope of copying so I just went for the circle instead... here is the original sketch

I kept as many of the main features as I could and in the ned I was really pleased with the feel of the whole page, and I've also clocked up another non-Christmas layout using a Christmas paper rage!!

I was a bit slow to get into the Kaisercraft Ribbon roses, but now I've got the gist of them, I'm just in love!! LOL

The photo in this layout of myself and Caroline Kaiser was taken in July while I was down in Melbourne at the big trade day that Kaisercraft held.

Thanks for looking,
smiles from Kel.

Mint Twist Layout

I couldn't resist one final Layout using the Mint Twist Collection... this time a soft girly one that is actually about Christmas! This was a very simple page to make... There's a few bits of patterned paper but mostly the border punces are the heros of this layout. A few of the matching embellishments and some of Kaisercraft's beautiful Ribbon Roses completes the whole thing. It's been fun doing all these bright  Christmas projects, but I'm looking forward to getting into the more traditional tones of the Turtle Dove Collection now!
Have a great day, Kel.

Saturday Sketch #1 Sep 2012

For this Sat. Sketch I have given the 'Twig and Berry' Collection another try ... this time I was keen to try my hand at using a Christmas collection to make a non-Christmas page! I'm quite happy with how it all worked out too ... I love the earthy greens in this particular range and couldn't resist leaning towards them when I found this Sketch. It's a great Sketch ... I stuck quite closely to it as I thought that the paper-inside-the-same-paper effect was a brilliant one! The big metal piece on the page was just something I picked up on e-bay one day that I thought looked cool ... I love the hidden treasures that you can find on e-bay! LOL
Thanks for stopping by for a look. Cheers from Kel.

Saturday Sketch #3 May

For this weeks sketch I have used the Magnolia Grove paper collection again, but this time I just focused in on all the soft blues and greens in the paper range. This photo was always going to be difficult to scrap with all those colours going on in there ( maybe I should have printed it in black and white?!!) so I focused on a soft page to highlight and frame the photo itself.
And here is the sketch it was all based on...

As you can see I flipped the image over for my sketch and also added an enormous amount of extra everything ... just the way I like my scrapbooking pages!!! LOL If you would like to give the sketch a try, THIS is the link to the Kaisercraft Blog where you can find the challenge ...Good Luck.

Fine & Sunny Easter Layout

Well this Easter Layout is just a couple of weeks late but I must confess I had a ball using the fun new 'Fine and Sunny' papers ... they are sooooo cute!! LOL I've also had a good go at the new ribbon roses that Kaisercraft have just released ... they are AWESOME as they add so much dimension to a page yet still sit quite flat in an album ( thats a dream embellishment for me!!)
I was sticking to a classic pyramid design with this page which was something a bit different for me, but I think I like it, so I'll have to give it another go in the future. I love Easter ... probably because I LOVE chocolate!!! LOL Smiles from Kel.

Charoltte's Dream Lay Out

My first Layout made using the beautiful new 'Charlotte's Dream' Collection from Kaisercraft ... how etherel these papers are ... very 'dreamy' indeed. The browns and pinks are perfect for heritage photos, but I was thrilled to see how well my baby photos also looked with this range ... perfect for my dainty little Abby! The collection very much was made to focus on Mothers Day with lots of die-cut words like 'mother', 'love' and 'forever' ... but it was very easy to cut off just enough to turn the word 'Mother' into 'her'! LOL
This collection reminds me a lot of the 'Sweet Nothings' paper range, which also has these divine subtle shades and patterns buried deep in their designs, the two collections will marry together perfectly I image ... that might need to be my next 'challenge'!!?
cheers from Kel.
